Anybody know how to fix this? (musiteck A3 scanner issue)

This is how it's been scanning:

I can figure out how to get rid of the streaks. I thought maybe it was a setting, but I tried a bunch of different ones and couldn't figure it out.
Any help is much appriciated.

I have no idea, man. I have heard though, that the Mustek scanners sometimes die suddenly, and/or can develop issues over time. That's one of the draw-backs of having a cheaper scanner, I guess. On the bright side though: it's not to expensive to get a new Mustek.

I had a Mustek, but never encountered this problem.

To solve other issues, I updated the driver or reinstalled the driver.

Also just to be safe, clean the glass.

Uneven paper?

Looks to me like either the foam mat attached to the underside of the cover has gotten warped, or your papers was warped, or something got on the glass of the scanner. Clean the glass and make sure the foam pad hasn't gotten damaged. Try putting a heavy cardboard on top of the paper before you scan something.

It could also be that the light isn't moving in a smooth motion as it moves to scan the piece. I don't know how to fix it though, if that's the case.

Could need a new bulb or possibly there's something wrong with the device the moves the scanning lamp.

When you got a computer problem try to make shore if its a software or a hardware problem first. Just like what other people said earlier. Check and/or update the driver, clean the glass, be shore when the scanner is scanning that there is a solid black object on top of the paper to keep the light from going through or reflecting pass the paper. If the light is going through the paper you may end up with very light hard to see scans.

If any of that don't work you may need to replace your scanner.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll look into it. Luckily I usually only scan inks and it cleans up ok, but it's till something I want to fix if I can.
