Heirs of Ashuradō - a slice of life/sci fi/adventure project

So i posted a page or 2 on this site from this project i was working on called Hilarious World of Maud Rabbit. Kinda recently i realized that there was already an anthropomorphic rabbit character with the same name on an animated tv show that was a couple years older.
i almost trashed the whole project because of that, but a friend convinced me to just change the name of the character and title of the property since i had already done so much world building and the story is nothing like the mentioned tv show.

So i decided that i would rename the property Heirs of Ashuradō and the main character will be named Rini Keiko Kasoke.

this is another character from the story i just sketched out for the first time: Tetsu Yokai.

I agree with your friend, don't abandon your work over a name! I really like your style, it's impressive when you can give an animal face human expression without going too cartoonish or heavily anthropomorphizing them. I am envious of your lines and your watercolors. The hair.... is tripping me up, maybe I would get used to it, but it is so incongruous with the fur it really looks like a wig to me. I wouldn't object to a little more line weight on the tail either.

Theres a few shots in the next 2 pages that has several characters that might be recurring (a kung fu class practicing outside), so im designing a handful of students first.
i have the next 2 pages laid out, as soon as i finish these background characters im jumping back into that.
