  • 3D bust wip

ZBrush just released a powerful new upgrade so I'm eager to get back into some modeling. I'm also thinking of offering simple 3d sculpt commissions from my DA page, so I'm trying to do a sample of what I'd offer--more of a cartoonish approach than what I'd normally do so it's a bit of a challenge for me stylistically.

So I've been working on this sample sculpt. This is pretty much just mesh so far, the final result will have textures as well as details like eyelashes.

An update. Wasn't satisfied with the eyelashes so I'm going to redo them.

Looking pretty awesome dude... I recently saw an eyelash brush for Zbrush if that helps.

Nice work, battlewraith. Form, proportions and anatomy of the figure are on target and believable. Especially nice is how the breasts seem to be snug in the bustier. My only critique so far would be that the lips seem a bit flat, but that may be the style you're going for. You're making me want to fire up Blender.

She's looking great dude, her upper lip is bowed down too much, making her smile look weird. Still looks great though.

                  Thanks guys!

spidey 976-- I'm actually looking to do a more abstract eyelash shape. I think it might go better with the style.

pell-- yeah the mouth is the most problematic part. I need to refine it a bit more but I do know there is a certain amount of flatness from this default render mode as well.

BPS Morganza--yeah it looks off to me as well. I'll shift things around some more.

Good work. The other posts hit anything else I would say.

                      Here's an update:

I think that's as far as I'm going to take this in terms of modeling. I'm still trying to figure out a good lighting/rendering setup.

                        That bust does not disappoint!
