Works In Progress posting guidelines

The following are the rules for posting in the SKETCH LAB. Topics that violate these rules may be moved, edited or deleted at the discretion of the moderators:

• Sketches only - each topic must begin with at least one sketch or work-in-progress
  
• Post your work - post only artwork YOU sketched
  
• Less is more - Try not to post more than three (3) pieces of artwork in a given topic
  
• Direct links - Don't link to artwork posts in other forums (or attachments thereof), galleries or index pages - link directly to your artwork
  
• Content - Posting images with nudity is ok, but not sexual in nature or ultra violent. If you have such an image, post it as a link instead of using the IMG tag.
  
• Don't double post - post a given piece of artwork in one Lab forum only
  
• Don't beg - look for collaborators in the Bulletin Board
  
• Don't solicit or promote - save the solicitation and the self promotion for the Bulletin Board
  
• Don't steal - acknowledge the original artist when you post studies or copies of other artists' work
  
• Don't whine - posting artwork here means you're explicitly asking for public comment and criticism; give and receive comments and criticism gracefully

I would like to add this to help new members post their art.

To post, your image needs to be included in your post as a link (URL).
For the forum software to show it, it needs to be marked by so called image tags. There is a built-in function in the editor menu, where you can automatically generate the right tags.

The steps to post are:

- write your message
- copy the image link (URL) from your favorite image hosting site
(here there is one thing to consider: you need the URL that is actually pointing to the image file. A give away would be that the URL includes the file extension, e.g. www.yourhosting.com/yourimage.jpg)
A save way to do it on mobile is to long press on the image and select "open image in background tab" and then copy the URL of this new tab.

- click the icon in the editor
- paste URL in the pop up window
- leave all other options alone!
- confirm by clicking ok.
If the link is correct, the image will show immediately in the editor
