Hellboy for WSG. My first HB ever, and I kinda like how he turned out. I meant it to be some small preliminary sketch but then I started rendering it and in the end posted it. My Photoshop died on me and I couldn't bring it back to life, so had to use some other not so agile sw to get rid of pale construction lines and stuff. And I just see now how "pixely" the poor guy has become here and there...
Now back to Clint and the finishing touches (as I brought he painting home from the gallery yesterday). Hopefully the final version appears here by the EOB today.
After spending a few hours in tha garage with Clint, I claim him finished. Unless I don't try to bring greenish shadows to his face, which is an idea can't get out of my head.
To keep order, here is the stage when I started working today.
And here is the final version.
As this photo was taken without natural lights being 9.30PM the colours are a bit off. And my Photoshop is still off. But anyway, I'm happy with how the old man turned out.
First attempt at a hatch type quick-rendering - pose is referenced
Some prep for WSG #228 Lady Death, which never got finished. I need a Windows reinstall, then it can be turned to something of nice a digital drawing practice.
Just some girl in a "Nicht schiessen" party pose:-) (ref)
Just a few train (airplane) drawings as I was home (and also on the Rax walking in snow at 2k high) two weeks ago.
Catalogue girls on a train
"Our value lies in the people" - had no paper so used a notebook with some campaign stuff against unemployment. Well, they all came out great together. And it was no bus or train, just the old green sofa at my parents's... It was nice to be home and have a chat.
Plane doodles
That fiendish soldier guy and the style just got into me, so after getting back to the Midlands I tried to create a companion for him, who again started as a doodle:
A quick and messy take on Hellcat for this week's WSG. But I'm still happy with it as the pose seems sensible and there was no ref involved.
And a bit of digital drawing practice on Powergirl. I drew referenced pictures of runners for practice and one of them just looked like a relaxed flying pose (post #65), so I decided to convert it and to add more twist I wanted to go for a character with a different build - Powergirl was an obvious choice. But I really ruined the paper with the continuous overdrawings, so I had to take a step onward and go over the scaneed stuff in Photoshop leaving nothing from the original. First time I tried this. There are a few things I want to progress with in the pic and hopefully I got hints plenty as well.
I dunno where my time has gone this week, but I haven't got the chance to progress with that PWgirl... Only achievement is this Evoque for WSG.
And that subject was a total hit for me, as I have been browsing car concept art galeries for the last two weeks and now I really feel up to try some stylish thing
A bit of a headache, plus tiredness and signs of a mild cold bought me a sick day off today. And I put that time to good use.
A referenced warmup runner, I guess I really miss running now. There are downsides to intensive cycling - I don't have much time for running.:-)
Plus further portrait practice: Tomi Joutsen, from Amorphis. Just to show the other end of my musical spectrum after KT Tunstall... Well, Amorphis is not the furthest end.:-)
A photo of my pastel replica of the "Waterman". I think the name is the Waterman. Anyway, I have to find out the artist and the name to pay tribute.
It was a nice practice and also I'm growing to like pastels. Just have to sharpen them, use those delicate smudge tools and have to learn not to rest my hand on the surface as I always ruin the right part of my drawings:-)
A pin-up girl for this week's WSG. No ref, and also satisfied with the playful look I managed to bring. Well, I was aiming for an even more vintage kinda look, but didn't get there in the end...
