well it's been a while since i've posted any art here, so figured i'd toss this piece up, since i just finished it earlier today.

i've been meaning to do an updated version of the blackcat for quite a while now. the original, found here, is about 5 years old.

every step done by your's truly.

It wouldn't be a Nate Lovett piece without the eyes.
great piece, I don't think I've seen a pin-up from you with so much detail in the background, I like it!

My fave would be the inks. what do u use?

Its very nice, but the Background just seems out of place for her pose.

Seems out of place to me, too, probably because she's so low to the ground. But it doesn't make the central figure kick any less ass.

I see the paper is casting a shadow on the ground, but Black Cat is not. Definitely tend to that. I like the image as a whole though. How'd you ink it?

w3ll if you look at the paper you would see that the shadow is being cast in front so if she cast a shadow it would be off the paper .

No I'm pretty sure you'd see some of it. If it looks wrong, it is wrong. And right now it looks like she's floating. Put in a cast shadow and it'll look much more like she's in the background instead of a drawing of Black Cat pasted onto a background (which I know it's not).

Those inks are incredibly crisp. kudos on that! Are they traditional or digital?
I really like the colors, too.

hey guys thanks for all the kind words.

now to address a few questions comments:
-with the lighting coming from behind her, the her shadow would be in front of her, plus since she is in the air, just a bit, it would put her shadow at the very bottom of the page, with maybe just a bit of her foot showing, and maybe some of her arm. since you wouldn't see that much of it, and with the puddle being there, i didn't bother to put it in. call me lazy whatever, i don't feel it needed it.

-the inks are done digitally in manga studio. i hardly ever do any traditional inks anymore, mainly because i love the crispness and cleanness of diginks. that and there's absolutely no clean up.

                          thanks again guys!

Nice work man. I'm liking all the details like the posters on the walls and the reflections in the puddles.
                            (slightly disturbing)
