  • Death, By Ryan Sook

For this month inkerjam. First time doing an inkerjam on traditional so nothing of quality yet. The jam link if anyone wants to try https://twitter.com/InkerJam/status/...071106561?s=20

I like it, I think it has far more personality than digital inks.

That one was fun – Sook puts so many nice details in there, even though it's just a rough sketch. Didn't want to just throw my normal hasty lines at it so dug out the quill and brush. Was tempted to try doing an Adam Hughes big dead line around it, and there's a Mignola thing going on with the mask that made me want to dig the Microns out, but in the end I looked up how Ryan inks his own pencils and sort of went with that, plus a bit of how Rachel Dodson inks Terry Dodson (which is sort of somewhere between Sook and Hughes).

Not that I'm claiming I even got close, but a guy can dream.

Something like that. It's a great mythos, really worth reading the main run. I was a fan of The Dreaming too, but it's not for everyone.

Spoiler. They're not all traditional. Amazing what you can do with a computer these days.
