but the bat still looks a bit stiff.

That's because he's squared up, feet flat to the ground, weight centered between the heels.

Get him off balance. Get body parts pointing in different directions and angles. Get at least one if not both feet off the ground. Use a position where Bats has one of two choices, complete the action or fall down. If the figure can simply stand there... then it will.

Beautiful draftsmanship. Draw the action, not what you "see" but, what you feel. Use the force, Luke.

i like the drawing, you might want to try lightening the burst to have the most contrast on the figures
