I like how Spidey can't resist continuing to taunt Wolverine by flipping him off even as The Thing is breaking it up. Thing's left hand looks a little weird though, the way he's holding Spidey's leg, like he has two thumbs.
thanks for the comments, not to argue but I dont see the two thumbs prob.maybe if you did a overlay or explained it more.
Sure Brokenhill, what really makes it look odd to me is having Spidey's leg go between Thing's index and middle fingers rather than having the thumb and fingers opposed.
In this close up notice how the index finger very closely resembles another thumb, mostly because of the curvature and position relative to the other fingers. The inner edge of the index finger also creates a tangent along Spidey's leg, just below the calf muscle. This makes it look as if the index finger is overlapping the leg also adding to the "thumb" look of it.
In this close up I erased the actual thumb to show how much the index finger resembles a thumb also.
It seems to me that you were trying to show that prehaps the Thing didn't have a firm grip on Spidey, but in my humble opinion the index finger should have still been on the same side of the leg as the other fingers.
I hope this helps you see where I was getting my "two thumbs" critique from
Thanks , That is very helpful.I think also my prob. was I used
a pencil in my own hand as ref .also I shoud have seen that tangent and maybe if i drew the finger more flat as oppes to the way i did .
But ya your right and thanks for taking the time to show me .
Thats what i love about this site.
nice piece it's got alot of activity
i think spidey's pose and relationship to the other characters
is the weakest area mainly because I cant tell what he's trying to "do" in a who's fighting who sense.
