I love the pose. Good form But I actually like the subdued colors. It reminds me of being underwater.
But that being said I think it's TOO subdued. I think Symson is kinda correct. The shadows on Abe's arms seem the same tone and depth as the color of the background wall. If you squint and blur, you lose that shadowed portion of his arm to the wall. He need to be more separated from the wall. I agree with the halo, but the fish up front could pop out off the same plane as Abe with a little brightening of color. (closest to camera= most colorful). The background porthole is actually keyhole shaped, now that i see the vertical space behind his hips. The jellyfish in the background is the same color as the highlights on his outfit, so the one near his shoulder sort of blends. I think some lightening of some colors even a bit to differentiate the pieces of this work would make it go beyond over-the-top in terms of coolness.
