    first time I've seem this.

    like the fish
    and the dude...
    and the color scheme

but the water looks solid to me...
    like he's on a sleigh going down a mountain;
especially the left side of the image

Very nice, and great work on the water. I had a heck of a time trying to do a stormy seascape like that, you did an exceptional job on that here.

    Thanks guys!

I wish I had planned a little better and imbued the image with more tension by having the characters interacting more, but time is a bitch.

The only reason I don't post much is because I don't do much illustration these days. I'm in school for graphic design right now, so I don't get a lot of time for it.

I love the form and color of the giant coy (koi). Hope you get back into posting more stuff, Ed.

    This is great!

The painting style, the way light and shadows are rendered, the texture of the water. All of that is beyond awesome.

Perhaps the cloud could use a little more definition, however.

I love the way the water reflects on the belly of the fish. Indeed all the cast lighting and shadows look good.

The only little, little thing is the angle of the camera in the man's hand. It doesn't seem to be pointing back toward the fish - which you expect it would.

    Nice work!

I actually didn't see this the first time around. I wish I could paint half as good. I really like the way you handled the cool, blue shadows. Every time I try to do that it sucks. The scale of the choppy water makes it a bit hard to determine whether it's a giant coy or a miniature pirate. Not sure if that's what you intended, but that's what I see.

This reminds me of one of the great CREEPY MAGAZINE covers of yesterday. Ed, you're a wonder, man! Love the vivid colors!

Well, I for one think you did a fantastic job on the concept and execution. I love how you handled the lighting changes on his skin for the shadows and the gradiation in the sky color. All around a fantastic piece of art, my dear friend.

    Post more.

Wow I can only assume this is so mediocre that its leaving all of you totally indifferent. Not good enough for praise and not shitty enough for criticism...
