  • Latex= awesome

Well, it doesn't equal awesome all the time. it really does depend on who's wearing it. John Goodman in latex=brainvomit for instance.

But i do luv drawin the ladies in it, that i do. Especially cause it actually makes it a bit easier to color. Not terribly happy with the interaction of the figure and the setting, but it's passable i guess.

Done on commission, photoshop pencil sketch, and tablet.

I'm really digging her holsters, and well, the rest of it for that matter, her face seems kind of out of alignment though.

Cool stuff. The latex/shinny look on the clothes is great. And if those boots are entirely from your head, I'm very impressed. Good work.

The background doesn't work for me. The color intensity/saturation, choices just seem off. Check out KULER, a free program from Adobe to help with color cordination. You can just google it, or if you have cs5 just open the add on in your tools.

Also there is no real sense of perspective in relation to character. If you struggle with applying the rules consistently, as I sometimes do, you might wanna check out Manga Studio Ex 4. It's a much better program for figuring out perspective without reference, then the lame filters in Photoshop.

Last, and this is a minor nitpick, her hair on top of her head looks a little squashed.

      But overall, cool piece.

The other thing, on a different thread, or via private messages, if you ever wanna do shop talk on digital painting tips and tricks let me know. I love to share what I know and learn from others.

Thanks for the insightful commentary guys.

A number of the problems you both pointed out were a bit inherant in the sketch that i used to color over. I should have fixed it there, but time and a bit of pressure, and a foolish beliefe of "i'll fix it during" (which of course never seems to happen....ever)and the problems persist. Thanks for pointing them out. Being caught helps remind us of what we can and cannot get away with:P
