Calling all artists
This is a paid gig to pencil and ink a 21 page comic titled "The Stick Fighter"
The project is a super-hero story that's set in South Africa. The local title is "The Stick Fighter". To give a bit of background: Stick Fighting is a form of martial arts that has existed for centuries in South Africa. It was used a form of hand to hand combat in wars. Young herds boys would be taught the basics of stick fighting and would use it a way of preparing themselves to become warriors in later life.
The premise of the story is: "What if a young, black man living in Soweto, was chosen to fight demonic forces that have been unleashed in his country, using a centuries old power that is locked in a pair of magical stick-fighting sticks?"
The script of the first issue is near completion, and just needs a bit of consultation with the artist to accommodate it to their individual style.
Much of the art will be of South African sights, sounds and people.
All styles welcomed. But the artists needs to prove that they can work with visual references in order to achieve an authentic depiction of a country they have never lived in/ visited before, if that is the case.
Looking for someone who can complete the project within a couple of months (2-3 months).
I am offering $30 a page for a single artist that can pencil, ink and letter. 20% up front then the rest upon delivery of scanned pages (money will be sent within one week). Can pay through Paypal.
