We are looking for someone who can do all the artwork plus lettering (except coloring) on a project that is a first-of-its-kind.
The project is a super-hero story that's set in South Africa based on an ancient form of martial arts that is found all over Southern Africa.
My primary concern at the moment is finding an artist who is the right fit for this project. I need someone who can depict the people, streets and sights of Johannesburg and Soweto primarily, and other parts of the country, working off of visual references primarily (having lived in/ been to South Africa is a definite plus). At the moment, I am looking for someone who can do all the artwork, except for coloring, which isn't necessary at the moment.
In terms of payment, I am a professional and I get paid for writing (find my credentials here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3416947/). I extend the same thinking to the people who I work with: I want to work with professionals, so I always pay. However, being in South Africa, the Rand to Dollar exchange rate becomes a factor I cannot ignore. A big mac in South Africa costs half of what it does in the US. The living standards are different. Hence I am willing to pay what I think would be reasonable by South African standards, but I am aware, they would be too low in the States. So I am looking for writers who are willing to defer the rest of the payment after sales. I am willing to pay $10 per page, via Paypal, upon completion of the page. A balance of $10 per page would be deferred.
