  • Assailant Comics is officially open for business!

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum. I usually post in the writing forum, but since there's art involved, I thought I should post here. Hopefully that's correct.

Just wanted to announce the opening of the site - http://AssailantComics.com

This is kinda my baby. Over the last year it went from idea to script to pencils/inks/colors/letters and now I have something to share. The site is what it is. I'm not a web designer and did the best I could. haha. It wasn't easy. It actually kinda sucked. BUT.. it's up and it works, and that counts for something I suppose.

The first two issues of my ongoing series, "Binary Gray" are available in digital format, with print coming in about two weeks. Not to mention, miscellaneous Assailant merchandise.

In addition, there's a 12-page preview of Binary Gray #1 that I hope you guys will check out.

Here's the pitch for the book (I suck at pitches)..

Alex Gray is down on his luck until the day an accident at his job as an IT Technician grants him the extraordinary ability to communicate with any electronic device! But will Alex use his new powers for good or to exact vengeance upon his enemies?

Elements of both Classic and Modern era comics collide in this super hero action-drama with a biting sense of humor.

Anyway.. that's it. Hopefully you guys like it. I appreciate any feedback!

Binary Gray #3 and Sleepless #1 (my short story book) are currently in the works! Binary Gray #1 is also available on Graphicly. #2 will be there shortly!

    Thanks!

    Chris

I have some advice for you, I just looked at your preview, and I love the pencil art on the credit page, I wish the whole book was drawn by that person because as soon as I saw it I was impressed until the next page I was let down.

The cover is boring, I have no clue what the comic is about and if I saw this on the shelf I would pass it by without hesitation. It's very plain and boring.

I didn't mean to sound like an ass, it's just my opinion but maybe you can use it to better your comic, and I wish you success!

Yeah, those pencils were done by an artist that was out of my price range. He did the first few pages of the first issue and the character designs, but when I decided to self publish it was clear that wasn't going to work out. I'm sorry you didn't like the other artist, (or the cover) but thanks for your reply!

the SPACE convention was great - everyone really liked the book. I was curious how it would play since SPACE is primarily an "indie" convention and not really super-hero-centric. But it seemed to play to both crowds. I think the combination of indie vibe with the super hero bit worked really well and everyone commented on how professional the book looks. (the print copies are gorgeous, by the way)

And also - there are two more reviews for the book up and some more on the way. Thanks!

Hey man I have to hand it to you. You are actually going out there and making comics. An editor told me that if you wanna make comics, MAKE COMICS anyway you can. Looks to me as though you have a great start. I do agree about the cover but I am very happy for you because you're doing it man. Keep it up can't wait to see more.

I think that's true too and thanks for the compliment! I've just heard too many stories about writers who sit on scripts and rarely get replies from publishers. I decided to be more proactive. It's a ton of work and money, but it's also working toward a dream and I think you can be much more focused and determined when you have your own future in your hands. I should have some big news coming soon!

That's great man. It does take a lot of time and money but if your heart is in the right place and your passion is there no one can stop you.
