Hi everyone, my name's Mike. I'm a 19 year old aspiring comic book writer living in Adelaide, Australia. I'm looking for a co-creator on a series that I am tentatively entitling 'Demonica.'
It’s the story of a young woman who is kidnapped and sacrificed by a pagan cult to bring an immensely powerful demon into the world. When the sacrifice goes wrong, however, she gains all of the demon’s powers. Little does she know, this infraction weakens the mystical barriers between hell, earth and heaven and suddenly a millennia old conflict between angels and demons is allowed back into our realm. Feeling guilty, our protagonist makes it her mission to stop the demons by any means necessary.
The story is rooted in Judeo-Christian mythology and would be an ongoing series. I have a 50-60 issue grand arc planned out. I’ve worked hard on this and I feel that I’ve created a rich mythology and back story.
The book is a sort of response to the idea that women in comic books are dispensable characters, with a demonic twist. Think Hellboy meets Buffy.
In terms of money, this job would mostly be back pay, but I do have some cash saved up and if necessary i'm sure we could figure out a modest page rate.
