Hello, artists. My name is Mike Exner III, and I'm a writer with a few small publishing credits to my name, although a short I've written for a major publisher is coming down the pipeline soon. I'm looking to take my work to the next level, and I'm looking for a motivated, talented and timely artist that is interested in doing the same.
First of all, in order to get it out of the way, this is not a paying job. I'm looking for an artist (pencils and inks a plus) to collaborate with on this project so that we can pitch it to various independent publishers. Any money involved would be produced on the back-end. However, it should be noted that right now I'm not in the business of storytelling for the fame and riches, I just want to get my work out there, so you can be certain you'll earn a large percentage of any profits if things get to that point.
The story is a four-issue mini-series, which means 92 pages of art including covers, once the book is picked up. I have a synopsis, and I have the script for the first issue, and I'm attempting to sell a potential artist on the story I've written. You send me samples of your art, I'll send you the synopsis and the script, and if we like what we see/read we can work together to bring the story to life. The high concept is basically... a chthonic goddess tricks a disgraced knight in an effort to end human civilization and bring an age of wilderness and chaos back to the world.
