[Wanted ($)] Artist for Graphic novel

Hi,
I'm currently looking for a collaborator on a comic project I am writing. The story will be a self contained graphic novel when completed, but will be published in chapter installments as a web comic as the work is completed.
Ideally seeking a finished artist -- ie. Pencils/Inks -- but would consider only pencils as well. I will pay a small page rate as well as partnership in the property itself.

Subject matter is a science fiction thriller taking place in a modern high school setting. I am open to styles as it could be interpreted many different ways from realistic to as cartoony as Scott Pilgrim. It really depends on what seems to be the best fit.

are you any good? why don't you post links to some samples? why not enter a couple of the writing contests? these ads drive me crazy, but to your credit, at least you're offering something other than happy hopes for a prosperous future.

Are you kidding me with that comment? I'm offering a job and looking for collaboration. You speak as if I'm looking to take advantage of someone. This is a forum for people interested in the craft of comics, a place for creators to meet and form relationships. Who I am and what I do and whether or not my material is worth working on are all things that would come from the discussion generated here. It's pretty standard for artists to have samples of their work posted online, so no one's putting themselves out by expending the energy it takes to copy a link to a forum thread in hopes of meeting a like minded creator and making a little bit of money. If you're so sick of these ads why would you read them? With a poor attitude like that it's obvious you aren't looking for work yourself so why would you find it necessary to read an artist wanted ad, much less post an unnecessarily negative comment? I will thank you to take your issues to some other forum thread where they would be more appreciated. Why don't you start an "I hate people trying to find collaborators on Pencil Jack" thread. Then you and other like minded individuals can commiserate.

I can see where I came off more antagonistic (although hardly unnecessarily negative) than I intended, and for that I apologize,

what I meant by offering something was the fact that you are offering payment, which is a rarity in this section of the forum, and it shows your commitment to, and confidence in your project. however the fact remains that writers who rarely post here very seldom show any evidence of their writing ability or experience, other than "ive got a great project in the works," or "here's a list of my credits" I can understand not wanting to put your idea out there at an embrionic stage, but for a writer of any ability it should be a simple matter to have some short script samples available to save artists from having to go through contacting a writer, read their cool idea, take time with charecter sketches, realize the writer in fact cannot write, and then have to find a way to tactfully remove themselves without hurting the guys feelings.

not saying you're a bad writer by any means, but how can someone know that without even a website or blog to look through?

as for the ads, I'm not sick of them necessarily, just the way they're written by seemingly fly by night (by their single digit post count) never offering anything but a hypothetical back end deal, which I emphasize again, you have not im just entertained by my own Don Quixotic efforts to change that, and if I strike a nerve and start a debate so much the better.
