folks, the reason that i firmly insist on you watching me draw via my webcam, is that to me, artistic license is the same as me slapping you in the face, and saying that "this is MY project now", and that is total disrespect for the writer's vision for their story to be done a certain way.Comment

but its not necessary. The whole point of collaboration and teamwork is to trust each other to contribute to the project. I don't need to look over your shoulder to make sure your following the script. As a writer I should be able to the illustrator to convey the script as closely as possible and when they can't to consult me on any changes they may think necessary. It becomes disrespectful when you suggest a change and I say no thanks I'd really prefer you draw it the original way and you do it anyway now THAT'S disrespectful. FMFan, what about physical appearances of characters, buildings, vehicles? i am very sure, that you saw EXACTLY what you liked them to appear as, when you were fleshing out your concept, correct? unless you send me scripts that specify ALL(every possible micro-predetermined description), then that is too much room for error, and time-consuming interruptios, to take pics, send them, wait for email replies, that if not instantaneous, will delay progress further.
WHAT is more effective/effiicient than using video IM(instantaneous)? email?(minutes, hours, days, or worse, for a reply) texting still involves, stopping what you're doing, and typing it out, and having to wait for a "sent" confirmation to appear on the phone screen, or in case you have a phone that has no qwerty keyboard, it takes MORE time, to switch back and forth, between characters and numbers, which on average contain THREE letters per number key.
look at what i told someone on zwol.org, about the comparative time-usage of both the email, and webcam observation mehods, and see how they add up, respectively.Comment
