  • [Wanted ($)] Writer looking for an artist!

I'm looking for a artist to work with who is interested in a long term collaboration on a multiple issue comic series. I'm not just looking for someone to write a check to but someone to exchange ideas with. You will of course be paid for your time!

I would like to work with the artist to complete a portion of the first issue and then use this as part of a package to shop the comic.

The comic series is an adventure story set in the mid 1920s and follows a group of mysterious, larger than life characters, on a quest into the foggy areas between history and myth. From an artist's standpoint it will involve multiple characters with varied and unique costumes, detailed and elaborate interiors, and locations ranging from Manhattan to Africa. I'm more than happy to discuss more specific details.

Ideally I would like someone with previous experience in illustrating to a narrative and comics, but this is not a requirement. I would, however, ask to see examples of this. I don't want to exclude anyone here but in the past I have ended up having to hold someone's hand through the process and I'd rather not have a repeat of that. Trusting my artist is very important to me! If you are comfortable going from penciling to coloring, that's a great bonus! If you're not it's ok, it's not a deal breaker.

I am very committed to this project and am willing to financialy invest in a talented artist to see our work get off the ground. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sounds intriguing. I actually think it's kind of funny when writers don't want input from the artist. Sad actually. Anyway, you can find examples of my sequential work here:

Dedicated artist with everything to offer.

                          Hola,
My name is Sandra Lanz and I've been working as a comics artist full time for the past two years. I've recently finished a project and I'm looking to commit myself fully to something new, engaging, and challenging.
                          http://sandralanz.com
My strengths lie in drawing figures, facial expressions, detail, architectural elements, landscapes, and layout. I'm passionate about story telling and immersing the viewer into the world of the comic.
I am able to produce a project from pre-production storyboards to post-production formatting. I am a penciller and I ink, color, and letter (digitally).
I want to work with someone who will value my input and suggestions. I believe the partnership between artist and writer involves stepping into each other's shoes and collaborating in every aspect necessary, while respecting our individual processes and methods. I am also self-diciplined and can work independently with confidence.
I'm very organized, concise, easy to communicate with, and punctual with deadlines, dedicating all my attention and skill to the project I'm working on.
I hope you see potential in my work and feel free to contact me with any questions.
                          My e-mail is [email protected]
                          Thanks for you time,
                          -Sandra
