[Notice] Looking to Submit Comic Idea to Indy Companies - Help?

Hey all,

So Dan/MrHades recommended I try submitting my superhero comic 'Relik' to independant publishers to see if any of them would pick it up to help me find and artistic team and get it out there. Question is; what companies are out there that might take blind query letters, and how would I contact them? And advice, links and email addresses would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of that. They typically view submissions from an art team that is already in place.

A lot of companies will only review completed projects or at least projects with full creative teams. Do you have a script for your comic? There are a few that will still accept script submissions. 215 Ink comes to mind.

What I've heard from some of the guys I know who've gone the indy route is that you should think of the independent publishers as just that... Publishers. They are the vehicle for you to distribute your work. You have to be editor, creative director, writer, copy editor, talent scout, recruiter etc. on your own, unless you happen to be either Bendis or Remender. In that case knock yourself out. Hell, I'LL DRAW IT!

I have the scripts for the first 5 issues, but my artist dropped out after 5 pages I'll look for a new team first then. Thanks, everyone!
