  • Graphic Novel Artist/s needed – PAID assignment

    Who we are:
We are looking for emerging, talented artists to adapt screenplays into original graphic novels. The screenplays are by writers who are represented by the big 4 talent agencies in Los Angeles (CAA, WME, ICM and UTA) and have either been previously optioned or well received by film and video game production companies.

    The project/s:
There are several projects that we are looking for artists for, though may not all commence immediately.

It will be a single artist per project, so you will need to be a jack of all trades in sequential work (pencilling, inking, colouring and lettering etc) plus a cover when finished. We are looking for a traditional style of art - realistic, not manga.

As a rough guide, elements you would need to be comfortable sketching would be (in no particular order): werewolves, aliens, crocodiles, Mars exploration, bank robberies, African safaris, flooded towns, ghost towns, military elements.

    Remuneration:
The page rate will be negotiable, depending on quality and turnaround time. You will need to submit your rates.

However, as a guide payment will be somewhere between $50 to $100 per page for a 100 to 150 page project, therefore total remuneration between $5,000 and $15,000 US per project. This is strictly up-front payment, however fixed back-end bonuses can be negotiated in certain circumstances. Ownership of all elements of the project remain with the company provided payment is made to the artist.

Payment will be made via Paypal, unless otherwise agreed. Company is based in Australia.

    The terms:
There will be a formal artist agreement containing the detailed terms of the retainer. Payment will be made every 5 pages completed (to our reasonable satisfaction in terms of quality).

    What you need to do:
Send an email to [email protected] with a link to your portfolio plus list your rate for the above. We will need to see 3-5 pages of sequential coloured comic book illustration that demonstrates you talent. You don't have to have been previous published, provided you have good samples and give a long term commitment to a project.

WE WILL ONLY BE CHECKING EMAIL – DO NOT SEND MESSAGES THROUGH THIS FORUM.

We will be accepting applications until Friday, 16 October 2010 though it is recommended that you get in early if you are genuinely interested.
