"Guardians of The Galaxy" Offical Movie Thread

I went to see it again Yesterday and Guardians was still showing in one of the Big screen rooms, compared to the smaller screen rooms and it was actually packed as if it just came out. I was expecting one of the smaller show rooms and a small amount of people. Completely took me off guard.

Doubt I'll see Ninja Turtles unless I do one of those unsanctioned double headers.

BTW...last ate at a McD's around 92', BB King around 95', and I have only eaten at IN & Out 3 times against my will. Jack in the Crack was probably last visited around 90 or 91'. It's all $hit.

While the international box office makes up a growing portion of film revenue, the U.S. remains the largest market. The sales that studios receive for movies in the home-entertainment market -- cable TV showings, DVDs and movie downloads, for example -- closely follow the domestic box office, and are in some cases tied directly to ticket sales.

Bigger Share

Studios also keep a bigger share of U.S. ticket sales than in some other markets. In China, where the latest “Transformers” has grossed more than $300 million, according to Box Office Mojo, Hollywood gets less than a quarter of the box-office proceeds. That compares with 50 percent or more in the U.S.

judging from all the drawings posted of groot, rocket and the guardians on this site, i would say the movie hit the right notes. i took my kids, two girls, and we all liked it. best movie i have seen in a while.

I enjoyed this movie. It was very entertaining. It had fun characters, humor, great action, a credible villian, and it moved at a good pace. What more can you ask for in a movie, superhero, or otherwise? To me, this is a 'click and stick' movie. When this starts playing on TV, I will watch it every time it is on, no matter from which part in the story I start seeing it. This will be up there with all of my 'click and stick' movies, like 'The Incredibles', 'Iron Giant', 'Galaxy Quest', 'My Cousin Vinny', and a handful of others.

I don't look at it as a great superhero movie, I just see it as a fun summer time movie.

I agree with dmario: Why are the Nova Corps a bunch of seemingly comically inept cops? Where's that Nova power?

I just saw it and enjoyed it.

The cops were not the Nova Corps.

There are three different divisions shown in the the film.

Nova Pilots - Well they are all wiped out now, so there are plenty of job openings.

Nova Corps - They were just seen in the backgrounds as bodyguards(?) in the Nova Prime scenes. They most likely don'y have power yet. Thanks to the Infinity Gem they may get powered up and replace the Nova Pilots. Who needs planes when you can fly under your own power.

Nova "Cops" - I didn't hear what they referred to as in the film, but these are the inept prison guards we saw in action.
