I don't know of any but I would suggest switching to Manga Studio instead. There's not much in the way of a learning curve. You simply start drawing. It supports layers and most anything PS or Illustrator does plus lots more tools for the sequential artist.

Pretty much. I know a lot of people like all the different brush options of PS but I prefer simplicity over choice. Now I've seen some amazing stuff done in PS and Illustrator. While I can use PS to some extent, I just didn't care for the complexity of it all and much prefer just being able to lay down inks in Manga Studio. There is quite a bit of brush control as well but not like you see in the Adobe products.

I have sketchbook pro. seems to be pretty similar with using just brushes to do inking.

I can do a tutorial for you in a couple of weeks. I use Illustrator to ink.

Any specific things you want to know so I can include it?

I always thought Illustrator was a hassle to ink with, because you have to use anchor points and all that jazz. Can someone please explain to me why someone would prefer to ink with Illustrator, as opposed to Photoshop or Manga Studio? What advantages does it offer?

Well Ace, I was using Illustrator before Manga Studio came out and because it is vector and I can resize the art.

If you are using actor points to draw, then you are not really drawing. I use brushes in Illustrator and very rarely use anchor points.

Here's some recent things I've done with line art using Illustrator.

And here's a Phantom cover I drew for Moonstone Comics

This was the color guide I submitted along with the line art.
I find Illustrator very easy to work with, but it was a pain in the beginning.

Brian Denham's Illcraft blog was always a good spot to pick up Illustrator tips for comics. Doesn't look like it's been updated in a while though.

                          ^ Thanks Ace.

Reminder for everyone to send me any requests for what you want me to cover in the video tutorial by June 24th.

I often look back afterwards and think "I should have talked about this". Some of this stuff is second nature to me, so I don't think about it anymore. So make your requests known now or I may miss answering your question. Don't take the chance I'll cover it.

the thing I couldn't stand in illustrator is how it behaves if you were to erase a line segment. It would alter the rest of the line. It could be I'm just retarded. Not an unknown variable these days...

^I'll be sure to cover how to do that Amadarwin without any alteration.

Since this is quick answer I won't make you wait.

Expand your path and then erase.
