  • Adrianne Palicki cast as Wonder Woman for new TV series

Friday Night Lights actress Adrianne Palicki has been cast as DC superhero Wonder Woman in the announced NBC television pilot. The show is said to be a non-campy take on the character that presents the superhero character as "a vigilante crime fighter in LA but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying…

Palicki is 5 feet 11 inches tall, which I guess is considered tall for a non-model Hollywood actress. The modern day character is 6’3” while the older version was much shorter (5′²11” was “amazonian” height for a woman in the 1960′s).
Pic of her as a brunette

Speaking of Smallville I remember her playing Kara. She looked good in Supernatural.

Doesn't sound to good to me, kinda comes off like that Witchblade series from a couple years back.

I don't see her as a good Wonder woman. maybe Donna Troy or Wonder girl, keep her blond and she'd be a fantastic Wonder Girl looks wise.

              Script Review

"Los Angeles-based mega-billionaire Diana—who collects planes and a multitude of transforming aircraft called “Ultimates” (no invisible plane in sight here)—as she attempts to take down an evil pharmaceutical company run by morally corrupt scientist Veronica Cale, who is mass-producing a human-growth hormone that is causing its users, mostly black inner city youth, to die. Along the way, she tackles criminals, a Senate subcommittee, and a broken heart, the latter courtesy of lost love Steve Trevor."

Go ahead and read that again if you want. You can read it every day until you’re a hundred and it’s still not gonna make an ounce of sense.

Hahaha. I did...and it didn't. I know next to zero about WonderWoman, but now I feel like I know even less.

Another Liberal, feely, touchy, the corporations are evil piece of crap, tv show. And they wonder why they can't grow the audience but can only shuffle em around from show to show.

I wait to see her in some kind of cleavage comforting outfit before I pass any judgements.

Wise stance, sir - I concur. We don't have enough data yet to make an informed decision.

After reading (twice) the synopsis that harmonix provided I have to say it sounds like a disaster in the offing. I don't know a lot about Wonder Woman, and never really followed her comics, but it seems that they are throwing out the whole Paradise Island thing, the Amazons, the Warrior-thing, and so-forth. How that synopsis has anything at all to do with the classic Wonder Woman character is beyond me?

At this point I would almost welcome a Smallville treatment of Wonder Woman as long as its set on a tropical island full of hot lesbian supermodels fighting each other in skimpy outfits ...

Sir, that is a rather spiffing idea. I'd watch every damn episode.

This will probably go the way of the "Aquaman" show we all feared for awhile. Either that or it will air and then die a quick death, I dont think its anything to even worry about.
