The first official trailer was really amazing(sorry...), but every clip they've shown makes this film look weaker and weaker.

BTW, why was he already in the car? Does he teleport or something in this movie?

I know that he goes through a period of misusing his powers before he gets with the whole 'with great power comes great responsibility' thing -- but I really didn't want to dislike him this much

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who doesn't like Spidey/Peter at all.

EVERY clip that they release makes me want to see this movie less and less. I mean, I'm GOING to watch it, but woof.

It's just a different version of Parker then we are used to just like there are multiple versions of Batman.

It really doesn't look that to bad to me, I never really liked the Toby version.

i thought spidey has always been kind of a self absorbed douche, or at least recent spidey has, like when he attacks the rhino who is just visiting his moms grave in a cemetary, all because HE (spidey) is feeling sad. dude has been the sort of "my problems are the center of the universe" in comics ive read of him lately

Bullshit. You always throw that "Roy" nonsense out when people aren't seeing things your way, and it's bullshit. Roy was just looking to piss people off. These are my actual opinions, based on a character that I feel like I know. No, I didn't read Ultimate Spider-Man because I thought the whole concept of the Ultimate universe was a stupid one. And I really didn't like Bagley's art. Eventually, I read some Ultimates and some BKV/Immonen Ultimate X-men and found those enjoyable.

Regardless of which universe it's based on, the basketball scene and this new one with the car thief are ludicrous, and make me less likely to see this on the big screen. I don't want to have to make those sounds and comments while I'm watching this. You know, those sounds and comments. The ones I made all through X-Men First Class...

Eh, whatever. People who like the Raimi spider-man can still watch three movies with that portrayal.
This is finally one that clicks with me. This Peter is closer to the one I read and related to in high school.

As I said before my post got lost, the basketball scene isn't doing much for me either,but there are enoguh scenes floating online that give some context as to why he's behaving like that, and also show he's not acting like a douche throughout the entire movie.

There's still the possibility that some other things won't work for me and end up dissapointed again, but I'm sure it's not going to be because of the character choices they made.

The young Spiderman seems to be more of the aggressive alpha male then the responsible nerd. I guess that’s what people want these days, more reality TV in there movies. I agree that the old Spiderman would of held back getting personal and in your face but not the new Spiderman.

Maybe that’s the point of the high school Spiderman, to be young, irresponsible, and reckless. To let him be a flawed child and give him room to improve and grow up to be more like the responsible adult Spiderman he can become. He will get tired of half the New York cops chasing him and learn to grow up. That right there can be one of the major plot points of the film. Learning from his past mistakes and evolving..
