I didn't really like the costume in the last franchise and yes, we all went to see the third one but we did it because the first two kicked so much butt. The third one was ridiculously bad and even more convoluted than X-Men 3.
I think the reason they're rebooting it is because the public is losing faith in the Marvel movies thanks to the last Hulk and Iron Man (I actually liked Iron Man 2) movies so they want to keep the young 'ens interested until Cap and Thor come about. Or perhaps it's to make back their money when Cap and Thor turn out to be bombs. I don't have much faith in a Cap movie that doesn't have NAZIs in it and I just plain don't have any faith in a Thor movie. But Iron Man proved me wrong so I may be wrong about those two as well.
In the end, it's not the costume that makes it a good movie but a good script, a good director and a good (enough) cast.

I thought Marvel got Spidey back, thats why Sony had to give up the Spectacular spiderman animated show to Marvel after the first season.“Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” ― Andy Warhol

I don't know, I don't think I've heard the basketball comparison enough. Maybe somebody should mention it some more to really drill it into our heads. It's not a picture perfect adaptation of the comic costume, but It's still instantly recognizable as Spidey. I'm digging everything about this so far, even the title sounds great.

Yeah, the costume is growing on me. This new picture makes the costume look way better and more Spidey-like. And the title is great... I just hope they make a sequel and call it THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN.

That image looks great, texture and all. It just looks a bit more cheesy when your seeing it in photos from people on the set, not in the actual movie. I appreciate that theyre trying to make it different, Id be disappointed if they simply copied the costume from the old movies.

From close up this costume 6 pointed honeycomb texture looks more like “Tobey Maguire” Spiderman's 6 pointed honeycomb texture. The difference with “Tobey Maguire” Spiderman's is everything is flat except the spiderwebs. On the new costume they said let make everything POP and shiny. I think they just said forget the older fan's and give the kids what they want, more eye candy. This just represent how over saturated Media has come. I'm liking the costume, the only thing I think is wrong is that it's a bit over done.
Looks like it has to cost 4 time as much as the old costume.
