  • Cameron's Avatar trailer online.

Looks like a really good video game. I'm hoping it's playing in 3D somewhere near me or the story is killer cause those visuals aren't even up to LOTR standards.

Yeah, I'm not too impressed, to be honest. I never really bought into the hype on this to begin with, but this really looks pretty cut-scene-ish to me.

The thing that is really keeping me from any kinda excitement though are the alien designs. I just really, really don't like the big blue elf look they went with.

The visuals seem to be the same quality as LOTR or any other heavily CGI based movie. The real focus now is to get that life like movement down. Not too stiff/jerky and not too fluid/over animated. Juuuuust right.

Just another typical... piece of greatness from Cameron.

The Cam Man is back! Looks really good.

I'll definitely see it, but I honestly wasn't too impressed by that trailer. I think this film's gotten way too overhyped as this revolutionary new film, when it's really revolutionary in the sense of how it was shot and the technology used to make it, which really doesn't mean much to the person in the theater. But I'm still really excited for it; some friends of mine were lucky enough to get into the Avatar panel at Comic Con and they said it was incredible, especially in 3D, so I'm not passing any judgment on a trailer this point.

yeah i mean, star wars episode 3 was doing stuff that no one was doing at the time, in terms of digital filmmaking...didnt help it much.

The CGI in the second and third prequels was just grossly misused. Lucas really doesn't know how to use CGI in a film the way Cameron appears to be using it.

The thing I loved about the Avatar trailer was how he tried to convey emotion. When Worthington's character wakes up from the procedure and he's in shock first, than thrilled and happy, and you can see it on his face. The scene with the female Na'Vi crying, and especially the quick shot of her looking through the trees. At the very least, this looks like it'll have some of the best motion-capture animation we've ever seen.
I'm not as good as you. . . .I'm BETTER!!

As I've been told many times, you can't judge how this movie is going to be from a couple of minutes of footage. Cameron's last film was predicted to be a box office bomb, and we all know what happened instead.

I'm just happy James Cameron made a new movie. He's my favorite filmmaker, who directed my all-time favorite movie, so I'm ecstatic with what I've seen so far.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it will pay for the search.
