The Bad Astronomy review of the 2012 trailer by Phil Plait. It's pretty interesting; he used to watch movies and TV shows and point out how badly they got the scientific stuff wrong (and even came out with a book about it, "Bad Astronomy") but now he mainly writes about astronomy stuff on his blog.

The teaser for this film made me crap my pants, and I saw that over 6 months ago. Just the shots of ocean rising over everything freaks me the **** out. That trailer looks insane, though.

Yeah, I can't wait until 2013 when suddenly this movie will look even more retarded. It would be like a movie about the Y2K bug showing the end of the world being made in 1997. Except the Y2K bug was an actual concern, this movie is based on a myth.

Wow, that looked freaking epic. It's like the first time I saw the ID4 trailer with the white house blowing up, times a billion. I'll see it for the crazy destruction alone.

And yes, it's going to be hilarious how quickly dated this movie will become. It'll hit the dollar DVD bins Jan 1, 2013.

I have more than one long time friend that believes in this whole 2012 thing. I hope this movie makes their eyes bleed. In any case, the trailer looks AAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOME, but I don't have any illusions that this will be a well written movie. Cool looking, and I might even go, but with this guy's track record? Expectations are low.
