So, we've got willesee and immigrant returning for September, and Manofsilver is leaving. Everybody else is still in right?
I THINK most of the polls were pretty much blow outs so preliminary ranks will be done tonight or tomorrow.
Also, looks like everyone showed up and all the polls went up on time again. Awesome job guys.
I'm thinking about taking a break from PUMMEL because I've been getting my ass kicked for the last 4 months on here. Someone get me out of my funk and talk me out of the idea.
I've been getting my butt kicked lately too. I don't have a lot of extra time right now, but I just look at it like it gets me to draw once a month. And I KNOW I'm getting better and it's getting easier to do a piece. At some point I hope to be able to draw more and I'll be that much better when I do.
Hoodie-- With a lot of the matches now a days it seems that there's a clear winner, but IMO our match this month only defines that by my half done background as opposed to you no background, MEANING your piece is awesome man! I understand time being taken up and all, but stick with it. After my first month I asked a couple of PUMMEL "higher-ups" to crit my piece, they generously did, and I tried using the advice they gave me. Please stick with it.
Blam-- I F***ing love your style. I think it's very original and fresh. I really do. Take it from someone that also has to fight with "simple" style, you've got something there. I actually voted for you this month, but JMS seemed to really go balls out this month. (He beat me, too) I think you HAVE to keep drawing. I say if your style's simple, you have to draw more on a piece: stuff, background, characters, etc. If you got the theme down, your Cap & Bucky would've been a close fight.

Get your self esteem clean it off and get to drawing Hood. We ALL lose ... even the best of us get beat on occasion. Hell if hadesillustrations (Alex) can lose, and he has, anyone can go down. The thing is that you are improving with every piece you draw, and looking to improve. Trust me you could have won this months match if you had put in a background. Stop being afraid of them and just get to it. I got my butt KOed in my first match in PUMMEL ... and then I came back and kicked some serious butt for a bit ... then some losses. It is just the way it goes. However, I can honestly say that the simply act of drawing a finished piece every month, and by drawing figure after figure after figure, I have really been able to up my speed and my dynamics. The same will happen for you ... just bring the heat ... leave it all on the paper ... and always aim to beat YOUR best piece. If you do that ... no matter what you win.
