Pummel May 2023 - CS vs Hangman - Dungeons & Dragons
CS- I meant to comment on your piece sooner. And now I don't get the voting on here. Your piece, while covering less of the subject matter, is more polished and finished. Mine may contain somewhat of a background but its rushed and the perspective is quite off. I just think yours was so much better.

So my rationale: CS' piece has way more visual impact. It's well drawn and well rendered. It's got some really smart design and color choices--the blue rimlight and the shading on the eyeball is really good. It's well done there's no denying that.
The reason I voted for Hangman's is that, in general I vote for the things (or attempts at things) that I find challenging. In general this is (for me) putting a character in an environment that has some depth and having that character somehow interacting with things in the scene. A beholder is inherently easy to do because it's a ball that floats. Hangman's scene isn't super well worked out, but the character has some weight, he's gripping the sword and he's got some doofy glee. So it narrowly edged out the better rendering. Like really narrowly.
While I do appreciate the votes, I think I got away with more in mine. Just looking at it again, I just noticed that my character's left shoulder doesn't align very well with the torso. Stuff like that makes me think I got away with stuff.

So while i totally agree with battle as to why you are getting votes Hangman. CS gets my vote cause if that was a poster or shirt or even a sticker i would buy it! That just jumps off the screen! Great work from both of you!
