Here is my take, it's two mech pilots that are resting after a fight while their Atlas is repaired and reloaded with ammunition.
and yes the gal is supposed to be bigger than the kid, she's supposed to be from some kind of amazon/warrior humanoid race.
I don't like those anime/manga influenced mechs that ppl draw these days i prefer to look at them as some kind of a more bulky heavy robots.
