Grand Championship August- Amazing Fantasy 15 Homage
My god so many of these are awesome, way to go guys, really impressive work...everyone.
Love Nick for being creative with a marker, had to laugh at that one.
Scamrooney's piece is brilliant as always, really wanted to vote for that one.
TheCommish, amazing lines, great anatomy and of course DD, I was just about to pull the trigger...but then
Ridge, truly amazing piece man...brilliant in so many ways...you got my vote
Thanks to McNiel for posting this one up and running the Grand Championship every month! Nice job to everyone who entered this month. Here's a few more specific thoughts on all the entries this month:
golgotha: Great Bob Kane Batman style cover. Very classic look with
a good color scheme as well!
NickGuy: Funny stuff, really like those eyes peering out from
Batman's cape!
Brokenhill: Awesome Fin Fang Foom! Never would have imagined this
character on that cover! Coolness!
ArmstrongArts: Dig the juxtaposition of Spidey's biggest villain
on the cover of his very first appearance. Cool idea!
McNiel: Nice job on the Starcraft themed AF15!
TheCommish: Superlative pencil work on this one! Love those
pencils! Had to vote for this one.
Ridge: Funny stuff, man! Love the Aunt May and the embarrassed
posture of Spiderman!
T minus zero: Nice job on the colors and thinking outside of the
box on this one!
it was a hard decision, but my kid helped me choose scmarooney. she laughs at the expression on batman's face everytime i show it to her. my second choice was TheCommish, excellent pencils on that. good work everyone.
"when there's no more room in hell...the dead will walk the earth."
i was going to vote for scmarooney til i saw t minus zeros. that is fantastic
NickGuy, WOW...Thank you! Never in a million years did I think I'd get a vote on this one! Everyone did such an amazing job and mine,... well it was mine...ha ha! Thanks again!!!!
Tina
Really great entries! And an...wait for it... Amazing idea for this month! I was gonna enter with Spidey 2099, but just didn't have the time. Good work tho guys
golgotha: Dig the old-school Batman. Nice touch with the rogues gallery in the background.
NickGuy: That's the greatest shortcut for adding a secondary character I've ever seen. Cracks me up too. Bravo!
scmarooney: Now we're talking. Wonder Woman and perversion, one of my favorite combinations. Batman's expression kills me. Well done as always.
Brokenhill: Love the choice of Foom and the pinky carry is gold.
ArmstrongArts: Pumpkin bombs & patent leather pumps, another good combination. Nice switch-up and fine work.
McNiel: Very slick cross genre mash up.
TheCommish: Was so busy admiring the pencils I almost missed the joke. Fun, funny and excellently executed. Gets my vote.
T minus zero: Great concept. Slap a mohawk on the kid, a Farrah poster on the wall and it's a scene right out of my childhood.
Ridge's is great. I laughed instantly at just the picture without reading the text. I think the masturbation text, while funny that it relates to Daredevil, could have been left out and the piece would have been better with just thing about the curfew in there.
Let me start off by saying, if I could, I would give everyone who entered this month, a vote. But alas, it can't be. Still, some really exceptional work here.
golgotha- Nice throwback to Kane era Batman. And like Ridge said, good work with the rouges’ gallery in the background.
NickGuy- Hahahahahahaha! Great work man.
scmarooney- My number three pick. This is the first homage that changes it up. This is a great piece all around.
brokenhill- Amazing work. Really captures that Ditko feeling.
ArmstrongArts- Great work and a nice introduction to Spidey’s number one villain.
TheCommish- In a squeaker, my number one pick. Simply amazing pencils.
Ridge- My number two choice. Great job per usual.
T minus zero- I agree with NickGuy on this one. Fantastic idea. If you ever get away from the mouse pad and MS paint, you could be a force to be reckoned with. Love the sense of joy in this one.
Once again, great job to all involved.
And with that- it looks like Ridge Show continues apace- can he do it again next month? New topic will be up once I receive it.
