    Darkness wip

Something I'm doing for sh*ts and giggles. Sorry about the lousy scan, I'll finish this by the weekend.

Yeah, that's a beef I have with fellow PJ'rs: I have to download these images, then mess with them in PhotoShop or Preveiw, just to see what's there. (I can barely even see your image as you've scanned it).

Very nice work, though. Are you using non-repro blue? And is this an original character of yours, or a license?

Played around with it in PS, now you guys can actually see it! sorry about that!

Nice personality on your darklings! Only thing I see is the size of Jackie's hands. Either his left is too small or his right is too big. Since you put so much work into the right (open) hand maybe enlarging his left fist would be easier.

    Great work though! Very "Silvestri".

Yeah that right hand is a bit too large to me. But I love the darkling smooshed on the front pane.

yeah the open hand looks a bit big, since you said you had PS just
resize it in ps and put it back in. I think the composition could use a couple lesser darklings, even if its just there heads creeping in.
    nicely done.

his body language is stiff. should have created an action line during the pre-sketch stage to help map the figure's flow.

Structurally you should have three sets of lines.

The upside down capital T which dictates the figure's base and height, height being at least the end of said T, and a rhythm line that starts at the base of the back of the skull and flows down, becoming the line of the inner leg.

Eventually you'll be able to draw with them in mind, without having to draw them out.

hmmm lets see..Not original enough first and foremost..If your gonna do a drawing then make it as fresh and yours as possible..Darklings really look like they dont belong where they are..too much up front and takes attention off Jackie Estacado there...Anatomy issues and proper composition make it lack any credibility..I like the detail on everything but detail cant fix your base.Go check out Marc's stuff..very loose and sketchy..he lays it out until he gets the lines he wants and the composition..Whatever you put into a page needs to focus the readers eye on what you wnat them to look @..keep drawing .

That's a good idea. Maybe even some small silouettes (never learned to spell that word) of even more of those guys further off in the background?
