I feel funny about voting. I will be shortly posting MY appeal to be classed. But I'm in a kinda weird position (which I might have to take up in conversation with spidey976, whom I beleive I share a lot of attitude with): I'm over 50 years old, so I have been drawing for a LOT of years. I can't help but have a lot of experience, and have honed my rendering technique quite a bit. But conversely: I never dedicated much time to studying anatomy, and that shows in my work (especially here at PencilJack, not to mention DrawingBoard or DeviantArt).

What I guess I'm trying to say is: my technique shows a maturity, and a steady bold hand, which is obviously lacking in artists here that are 20 or more years younger. This is not a value judgement, I RECOGNIZE that drawing style from when I was growing up. But then there are young pups here who blow me away with their anatomy. So I hope you can see why I'm hesitant to vote.........

Then it is time to go to "school" biscuit ... and I mean that in a very literal sense of the word. This place is an education in how to draw comic book figures and comic book art. It is a community of teachers who are willing to help you grow, direct you where to look for information, and when in doubt in "not creepy" virtual way hold your hand when they do draw overs of your work.

Biscuit I mean this when I say that ... in real life ... I am actually a teacher and I have seen the attitude that you were displaying hundreds if not thousands of times. It is a bit of an issue that I think young adult feel they need to be more respected then they have earned the right to be. They talk tougher, get in peoples faces faster, and just kind of puff themselves up more then they ACTUALLY need to. I think it is even worse on the internet because everyone thinks they can be a bigshot on the internet, and talk to anyone any way they want to. So they say stuff that they would NEVER say in real life. That kind of attitude just makes you look like a arrogant blow hard ... and you see in this classroom the teachers can actually say F*&CK OFF and not help you. You have appologized so trust me I will try to help you out ... but don't feel like you have to be a big man around here. That will come with time and experience.

Biscuit you have A LOT to learn ... but I envy you in a way. I might be a better artist NOW then you are, but you see this community didn't exist when I was your age. Heck I think it was still about 11 away from being created when I was 14. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure things out on my own and when I got frustrated I gave up for around 10 years or so. If I had had a community of teachers like this one when I was 14, with literally thousands of years of combined artistic knowledge, and a willingness to share that knowledge, I would be a far more talented artist then I am now. I have decades of catching up to do compared to you because you have this place.

See you in the lightweight division ... you will learn and grow ... get to be a better artist ... and it will be great for me to watch you. Oh ... and I get to kick your butt every now and again.

P.S. Just in case you are wondering if I would say this to you in real life ... or if I am some nerdy whimpy teacher man ... being 6 foot 4 inches ... and over 200 lbs does help me to be ... ummmm ... honest ... lol.

LOL ... well I have to either win 2 more lightweight championship matches ... or beat three middle weights ... or beat a middle weight in the quartelies that are coming up in October. So unless something has happened that I don't know about ... I am a lightweight for ate least the next month and a half. Also, even if I am a middleweight I can drop by the lightweights to kick some tail around if I want to ... lol ... after all I am the lightweight commisioner (or kind of at least ... no one gave me a plague or anything).
