    Captain America WIP

Been poking away at this occasionally the past while, its just a section of the larger picture that I'll end up coloring and making into another wallpaper. I've almost finished coloring that X-men picture i posted in here awhile back too, so look for that in the Finished Work Forum in the next while!

    Comments and Critiques always welcome!

    Thanks,

I think it's a well convinced piece. Cap is under fire right? Basically is what is going i think. I think the piece suffers from looking really flat. Like maybe you can shrink that door in the back by the chair to make that room look bigger. I dont really know whats going on in the foreground? Is it a random cloth ontop and where are the bullets coming from? Are they coming off screen or to the right? Also what is that white thing in front of cap, is that a word bubble?

love the details on cap but he also suffers from looking a bit flat. I also feel like this would be a great widescreen shot panel like cropping the top a little. Sorry my crits are a little scattered , i really want do like this piece and something isn't clicking for me that all.

Ya ink, this is really only about 1/3rd of the whole picture, it extends further behind Cap and further below him as well into you guessed it, a widesceen full body shot, which helps to keep it from looking as flat as it does here, but it likely still suffers from some flatness issues i think. The bullets are essentially coming from the direction/ish) that you're looking from, he's under fire and just running to cover perhaps behind the car thats infront of him. Not sure what you mean by the white thing infront of him, as everything so far is white, but there is an explosion from an RPG behind him. Thanks for the crit dude!

I think he means the big empty circle down in the lower right corner. I'm guessing that is his shield, just without the details.

    Great pic so far.

OOOOH ya, you're right, its his sheild. Thats likely what ink meant. I'm an idiot lol. Ya, i'm doing the details when i color it, i didn't want to bail it in the lineart lol.

dude forgot cap had a shield for a whole second. lol

Yeah bullet direction doesn't really matter but yeah if this isn't whole shot i can wait till the whole shot is done to make a full crit.

Maybe to help with depth you can make the background in the back not as detailed as cap. maybe not every brick is meant to be drawn and the room in the back maybe you can thin out the lines a little. Line weight a little i guess but that style might really pop with the right colors.

    Keep it up!

Even blurring a little in the back in Photoshop would give it some super depth. I always have loved that technique when used correctly.
