I rather like the face but the rest is just kinda bizarre, how are you coloring this?
Alrighty, I decided to forego my digital color resentments and take a stab at this stuff. I only have a mouse for now, so navigation isn't the greatest... any advice would be greatly appreciated.......here's what I got so far............

Well, actually, that's why I posted this in the WIP section, but guess I should've explained...the face is the only part the is close to being finished....the rest has a ways to go....I'm extremely slow in doing these colors. Using a mouse and Photoshop.
I like how it's coming along so far.

Wow, using a mouse sucks. I have to do that too. I like the face though. it seems to be coming right along. Not sure about the white dots in the upper right. Are you putting layers in the background?
thanks WolfSpiritZero!
Taylea: yeah, mouse does suck, but there are some really great artist out there who use them (Kizer, Adam Hughes) and they're not too awful bad?![]()
Once you get used to a mouse you can have as much control as with a tablet (I used to have that) only thing you don't get is the pen pressure.
I thought about purchasing a cheap (well not to me-- $69 bucks) tablet at Walmart, but not sure....is a cheapo recommmended?
Looks a little pastel right now, but it's getting there.
Side note: Can't wait to see your work on the cover to ASJ41 Web31. I imagine you'll be getting around to that one soon.
Nice work, Bat. Great dimension on the shading in Nightcrawler's face- it's clear you don't need any help there.
I'd suggest getting a little more purple in the shadows on the face, and making the midtone a bit more saturated and maybe a little darker. It'll help the highlights pop more.
I hate using a mouse. HATE it. I don't think I could color with one now if my life depended on it. I'd suggest investing in a tablet- you're handicapping yourself otherwise, especially working with a painted style.
I don't think I've ever looked at your work much until now- I really dig it. Have you done any sequentials for the Big Two? I'm serious when I say it's good enough.
