To say nothing of cloudy days, condensation, or the sheer pain in the butt of standing next to a window trying to transfer an intricate drawing.
"Like one, that on a lonesome road
Doth walk in fear and dread,
And having once turned round walks on
And turns no more his head
Because he knows a frightful fiend
    Doth close behind him tread"

not to mention the strange looks you get from the neighbors...

or was that because i did my 'window transfers' in my underwear?

I tried drawing on a window a couple of times and from that experience I've got to say if that was my method of say inking (instead of the lightbox or the blue lines) I'd much rather be anything else than a cartoonist. Manwhore included.

I thought we were just transferring a stick man, as in the diagram. Yes, anything more complicated and a window would be tedious.

You'd have to be a pretty piss-poor artist to have to lightbox a stick figure.

i saw so much of this going on in jail......a lot of people would copy stuff from a newspaper and basically mass produce it on envelopes to make extra food or to get items, either way it definatly works

Stay out of jail, Kris. Nothing good happening in there. Plenty of good things happen when you're drawing though, man. Put your focus to the paper, and make people happy!

    I do...for years now.

Here's an easier way...go to your local art store and buy a jar of "Powder Graphite" all you need to do, is to sprinkle it on the back of any paper and get some tissue or cotten balls. You'll be actually making your own carbon paper.

It's cheap and it'll last you forever.

I've never tried that, but it sounds like a cool idea.
