As long as you can still push a pencil everyday, I don't see age being a real consideration for creating and working in comics.

If you've ever seen Alan Moore in an interview, you know that's crap. Stan Lee's still going, he's not exactly Paris Hilton, is he?
If you have the talent and you believe in your work, go for it. Like my Dad says "Why not you?"

    48? Dude, you're old!!! LOL

Just kidding, I had to say it because I have gotten that reaction here from some of the young ones and I am just 45. If comics are your passion, then keep hammering away. Like has already been said, as long as you can still put pencil to paper, or stylus to digitizing tablet, you can still work in comics.

Just stay young at heart and keep plugging away. I know I will.

Just do what you want. Too old is just a frame of mind.

Yep, Just grab some paper, set down the cane, adjust the ol’ bifocals and go for it. When the arthritis kicks in just tape the pencil to your hand!

You're only too old if you tend to forget what you’re drawing and fall asleep in the mid. . .Z z z z

It has nothing to do with age. Phil, if you produced work regularly like our new guy above, no one would hassle you.

My tweens assistant at Studio Fates is in his 40's, and he just started with us a year ago, with very little experience in the field. I'm not even positive what he did before this, but it wasn't arts... he's got a new start, and he's quite good at it.
