Link vs. Dark Link
Hey guys, I've always wanted to draw a good Link piece ( from the Legend of Zelda games for those who aren't familiar with him ). Plus I always wanted to include Dark Link ( the one on the right ), I know this isn't the most dynamic piece ever...I'm still learning to be more dynamic but I gave it a shot. Hopefully those of you who've played the games will see the little things that I threw in to show the difference between Link and Dark LinkThere are some things about it that I'm not pleased with so before I finish it up just thought I'd throw it up and see what you guys have to say. Needless to say C&C welcome.
BTW...I tried to draw Dark Link with a bit of a crazy maniacal look to him...gave him that crazy eye but I don't think I pulled it off that well so if you guys have any suggestions to make it better feel free to offer them up.

^agreed. DL should definitley be laughing manically, with those eyes of his.
Other then that, it's most definitely awesome! didn't play the particular game DL was in (Only played one game on NES 8bits and Twilight Princess) but I think I've read a manga about Ocarina of Time where DL was one of the main villains/undelrings.
Anyways, my point was that if DL was the complete opposite of Link - shouldn't he be right handed?

OH MAN Hofling ! I can't believe I goofed like that, I really thought I was putting DL's sword in his right hand, darn it....That was the intention anyway to make DL sort of a mirror image of Link but I totally goofed on the dominant hands. Rats. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though but I don't think I'll change it at this point. As for the laughing thing I think I'll try it out and really see how it looks, thanks for the suggestion chia !
I think both need a bit thicker sideburns. There's this huge gap between the eyes and ears now and the bits of hair there seem to be really... stringy. I dunno, there's not enough anyway. Might want to take the upper-earline a bit further as well.
Beyond that, I'd suggest adding a bit more depth to leather straps with a thicker line on the shadow side perhaps (though you prolly were gonna do shading later anyway).
Dunno why you put those lines on their cheeks, but I don't think it suits them a lot: I've never seen it be used on Link's anime design for any expression and it just makes him look older I suppose. Not sure if his eyeline normally isn't a bit thicker.
Other than that, I wouldn't know what to improve.Ah yes. Add Link's earring?
