    mixed martial arts talk

i dont know if any of u guys follow mma..

randy couture's back and going to fight brock lesnar in ufc 91.

in someways u can't fault brock for accepting this and not turning it down. but it seems too early in his career to get a title shot and lose . they should have brock made him fight Cheick Kongo.

i have a feeling maybe ufc is thinking they may have paid brock lesnar too much money and want to reap the benefits now..incase brock would lose to a lesser fighter and lose further earning potential..

yet if randy couture loses.. its a big pie in the face for dana white. because i have no doubt that fedor would crush brock lesnar..since brock is currently just a ground and pounder..

on another note its funny how rich franklin ..is moving up to a higher weight division since he can beat everybody in the middle weight division except for anderson silva. kinda makes me wish there would be an end of year fight where there title holders in each devision would fight each other.. just like what gsp is doing with bj penn.

I don't really see an upside for Cuoture besides the cash. Beating Lesnar isn't going to get him another title shot, Lesnar may get big in a few years if he gets some big wins, but right now he's still way down the food chain. I see it as a last big hurrah for Captain America, 'cause he isn't a match for Fedor anymore. Though Fedor hasn't fought anybody great in a while, so maybe Randy might get that shot at him if the UFC can get actually Fedor. The win would be a big feather in Lesnar's cap if he did take down Couture though.

If I was Franklin, I wouldn't fight Silva again either.

The GSP/Penn fight is gonna be f*ckin' awesome. Penn's been talking about fluctuating back and forth between the divisions if he gets both belts to constantly defend both which seems nuts given the talent in both of them. But I still think GSP will win.

true he's not as dumb as frank shamrock losing 3 times in a row to tito..

couture is basically declared back as returning champion.. the victor from his fight with brock will fight the victor of the mir and Nogueira.. to unify the title

i just hope fedor loosens up a bit in his asking price so we get a clear heavyweight champion.

Mir and Lesnar agian would be interesting. I don't know if Mir would get overrun as quickly having fought him before, but it would be nice to see what would've happened if Lesnar hadn't gotten his leg caught. When is UFC91, around December or so??

nov 15 ufc 91 .. yeah mir and lesnar 2 would be good. but ufc should really hold of lesnar fighting top submissionist.. and get some quick cash off him fighting "heavy"weights like kongo or any other big guys..

if only the great kali move to mma..

i can't see bj penn out strking gsp.. if bj were to win it would probably be on a submission but my money is still on gsp

Agreed. If he can get through a few wars with the likes of Kongo, Arlovski, etc., and become a legit big name and not just some sideshow act, he'll start raking in an assload of cash for UFC for the long run.

He's already raking in a assload of cash... and Penn is going to get destroyed... he's not even in the same class as GSP.

My feelings are mixed on the Couture/Lesner fight... mostly because I want to see Lesner do good... and I'll always back Randy in a fight. That fight is going to be a big draw.

I happen to catch two great UFC Unleashed... one with Courture Pwning Silvia and the other with Brock Beating some guy senseless while the still looking hot at 40+ Sable cheered him on. I would love to see a Lesner/Mir rematch but there's no upside for Mir in that fight...

I feel bad for Franklin too... he's still sporting a shiner... I thought those healed. Anderson Silva may need to retire... the person that beats him will make some big money. His current run reminds me of Mike Tyson's Late 80's Early 90's run in Boxing... he seemed unbeatable...

Silva's by far my favorite fighter... I'll be sad when he finally loses.

Say What!? When did this happen? Last I knew Frank Shamrock owned Tito in the one and only match they had.
    Maybe you meant Ken?
