Sweet, Mastadon! I would have prefered Crystal Skull, but CoB is cool too. The GHWT has an interesting drum kit and you could make your own tracks in the game. I think that can be a deal maker unless RB2 offers something similar. Like shinola said though, I'm not crazy about having 2 band sets.

What do you guys think about the rockband stage kit? I thought it was silly and over the top, but my brother liked the idea.

Yeah, I think that's where I'd draw the line. Rocking out by pushing buttons on a fake plastic guitar is one thing, but this is just ridiculous.

The stage kit is way too much. It's one thing to wear a vader tshirt to a Star Wars convention. It's something else to dress up as him.

Yeah...This contractor on visit at my base was showing me his basement set up back home. He was at least 45 and telling me how "sweet" it was that he was finally divorced and started showing all these pics and vids of Rock Band and him singing with fog machines and strobe lights and rotating gel screens he had all set up....I just couldn't muster the excitement and jealousy he obviously intented me to have. We didn't talk much after that.

As far as the GH drums - they do look nice, and like I said, if RB2 doesn't match those then it'll be a tough choice.

I'm not really concerned about the music editor. It sound really cool, and I think it's a great idea, but I see myself programing a few stupid tracks and getting frustrated/bored.

Apparently, RB2 will allow you to import your own mp3 so you can play along in free style mode.

the fret editors have been around a while now. Thats pretty much most of Frets on Fire is user created songs. They are just trying to make it like oh NOW you can make songs. It will be nice to be able to do it. Though with my experience 9 out of 10 user created songs don't follow the guitar but follow the singer. Its really annoying.

I've gotten quite better on hard since my last post on the subject. I wasn't able to use Knigge's method effectively, so I went back to moving all four fingers depending on the layout of the notes. I'm much more comfortable with hard now. I've even been trying expert, but have yet to beat a song (although I have beaten one song on easy expert).

The song that gave me the most trouble was Priestess' "Lay Down" which is a favorite of mine. It starts off with a series of hammer-ons and pull-offs, something I couldn't do up till that point. After practicing over and over, I eventually nailed it and was very pleased with what I had accomplished. I now hammer-on and pull-off notes left and right. Heh.

Right now I'm on the setlist in the prison. I'm not sure if I'm stuck on a song, but I most likely am.

I was playing RB at a good friend's house fr a while. Then he picked up RB2 and we've been having a good time. Then he got GHWT and found he could use RB instruments with it (he didn't want a 6 button drum set - 5 pads + kick). We're all used to the way RB works so GHWT is a bit alien, but the have TOOL!!!! So I'm psyched.
    Cheers, Alex
