While Nate's is more consistent, I have to say that page 1 by Morgan was 12 kinds of awesome. And the main pic of Wonder Woman on page 2 is pretty sweet as well. And how can you not vote for a villian smart enough to blow up the hero from her hospital bed? Morgan for the win.

Morgan. I dig Nate's work, and I like the new function of the hammer, but Morgan's sequentials really caught me by surprise. Great rendering (expected), good storytelling despite the forgotten exposition, and a good twist.

Congrats to both though, you guys have raised the bar.

I think it would have helped if Nate gave us some dialog.
But I voted for Morgan for his creative sequentials and great twist at the end.

You both kicked ass on this one.

GREAT draw-off yet again from both-- Morg, your freakin' sequentials really surprised me. Excellent work, man!

Nate, I loved the nod to the previous battles on the first page-- nice touch! The colors are gorgeous as well.

It was a tough call, but I'm giving it to Nate though-- his storytelling and pacing made more sense and slick all-around.

I loved the style and GREAT color in nates, but storywise I have to give it to Morgan. Nates was a straite foward BAM! POW! MACK! fight with no real surprises, but I laughed my ass off in Morgans. Very creative and entertaining. My only crit on your side Morgan, is you made sarah hammer look a little too old in the face, younger faces tend to havve larger proportions above the brow and smaller chins. Your version of Sarah seemed to put her into higschool/college, but great background detail. Nate, your work is killer, dont change a thing about your art-your story was just a little simple. Morgans art is overall strong even though its B/W so Morgan takes my vote for a more entertaining narrative.

I don't think this is really the place for a page by page, panel by panel critique, so I won't get into all of the particulars as to why I like or dislike certain aspects of these two entries, but I will toss out a few things:

Morg's sequentials are very good--especially the first page! If all three of his pages were as good as the first, I'd have voted for him. Morg really showed me that he could up his game in this draw off. I voted for him in the first two rounds, and was actually miffed when he considered dropping out, because I didn't want my vote wasted. Heh.

Morg's work seems better than ever these days, and I think that might just be a combination of hard work and a new level of devotion towards improvement on his part. If you check out his blog thread, you can see what I'm talking about. The old Morganza was good, but the new Morganza is kicking major ass! I really dig the way Morg rendered the first page. There's line work all over the place, but he still managed to maintain depth of field. This sort of rendering is sometimes seen in manga comics today, but it used to be quite common in books like CREEPY and EERIE in the late '60s, and inTHE SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN in the '70s and early '80s. That sort of drawing takes a level of ability and skill, that I haven't see in a long time, so that really impressed me. Unfortunately, that level of illustration disappears after the first page, and the artwork becomes a little more traditional in style, which jarred me a little.

I think Nate I have to give Nate a slight edge in the end. I went with his entry because he went the extra mile--pencilling, inking and coloring (and there is a version with balloons and letterering I think). The big thing about Nate's entry that got me though was a little crafty plot element in regards to Sarah's fighting tactic. Morg's Demoness character comes into this bought with one good eye, and Sarah capitalizes on this weakness by uses her hammer's flash power to blind the Demoness. In round one, Sarah uses the hammers lightning. In round two, she uses the hammer to strike down the roof, and in the third round, we are privy to yet another of the hammer's attack powers.

It wasn't easy, but Nate gets my vote. I'd be very pleased to see either entry take the win though. Both are very strong entries. Best of luck to both of you!

I had to go with Morgan omg that was very cool. The idea was very well executed. I wish they had used the same mediums. To make the judgment a bit easier since Nate still pulls off that wow factor every time.
