    Human After All

a few of my friends are working on a group comic. We've been doing every year since freshman year and since we're seniors now, we're going all out. It's pretty much a mindless fight scene staring the main characters of our respective comics with no story tying them together.

This is a sketch of my friends character featured in the first two panels, attacking my character in the bottom two panels. I tried to keep the style consistent between us so I went for the manga look. He's going to draw his character making contact with mine at the bottom so it's not done yet, but if I get my hands on it again, I'll update with the final pencils.

I've been working on my anatomy, a lot since I last posted, which is why I haven't posted in awhile, so I hope you can see some improvement.

I'm sorry that I haven't seen any of your past work however your faces seem pretty good for the style. In the second panel the foreshortening of the left arm looks incorrect to my eye and I'm not sure what the character is doing.

Two artist's on one book is tough, real tough.
    Where are the thumbnails?

IF you just throw down a couple of panels and then hand it off you will run into trouble.
I know, you are BFF's but trust me, plan this stuff out first.

For instance, your character is in motion and his character is just standing there.
You have already lost the reader.

    Anatomy is pretty good.

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing about the second panel, but I can't change it because it's my friends. I will tell him though, I'm just glad someone else thinks that, and it's not just me being crazy.

Yeah, every year we do this, it goes generally unplanned, so there's no thumbnails. It's a bad move on our part I know, but this is strictly for fun and for us to try to outdo each other. Since we're only like 2 pages in, I'll tell him tomorrow that we should plan the rest out. He'll agree, and since this is the last comic we'll probably get to do with each other(since we're leaving high school), he'll want to make it as good as we possibly can.

The third panel is supposed to have the character at the top trying to chop the character at the bottom and they make contact in the 3rd panel. The character at the bottom is blocking the attack, but my friend hasn't drawn his character in the 3rd panel yet, although I should have done the construction lines for his character, because it'll be hard to add to mine.

Also, glad the anatomy isn't off. I used to draw heads really big before I came here, and I never realized.

Well, I'll update as soon as we get more done.
