Excellent face, you should post more often, I almost always enjoy seeing your work.
Been in an artistic runt lately....big time. Anyway haven't posted anything in a while and thought I would post something. So here is an idea I was trying to flesh out for the Redesign a X woman draw-off. I was doing a redesign of Domino and didn't like where it was going, just can't seem to translate what I see in my head.

The face is excellent. The nose is a little too long for my tastes, but otherwise excellent.
I wish I got in ruts like this.

Dammit Manji your figure work is some of the best I've ever
seen. I've been looking at it for a couple of months now trying
to really analyze it to see what makes it work.....so I can steal it
but I'm still stumped.
As for the picture I think the proportions are off. There is no forearm
on the left arm its just her bicep but I dont know if you just havent
gotten to it yet.
Also having her right hand at that angle makes it seem awkward. I
would just shift that crease coming from the bicep to coming from
the forearm.
The cropping is also kinda making it difficult too.
The womans face is great work and very natural. Great stuff as always
man. Keep on posting you sexy monkey you![]()

Thanks for the kind words guys because I have hated everything I have been doing lately. I just do feel like I am breaking any new ground or being able to convey what I see in my head, which is what bugs me the most.
JLFG yeah I know the proportions are all over etc. Whenever I start with nothing and 'paint' in PS I just scribble and rough things in then I comeback and adjust as I paint. This piece all in all has about 25 or 30 minutes invested. I also have a few pencil renderings of ideas that I had for Domino but I just wasn't happy with any of it.
I like it, it isn't really failed, just under-developed. Make the left arm longer, it'll be golden then.
You gotta keep the black around her eye circular-shaped, Jason, because her eye make-up should probably continue the domino theme, and somehow represent the dot-shapes found on a playing domino. If you want to make it a little more stylized to contrast it a bit from her the dot-shapes on her buttons, I suggest making it an ellipse-shape, turned kilter at a 45 degree angle. That might look cool.
I like the idea of the domino buttons on her jacket, but you might want to do something different and a little more distinct with that. My suggestion is to give her a skin-tight, black body stocking top with the domino dots on it that covers high on her neck. Then, you can add something like a buttonless jacket on top of that. You could play around with the idea that her jacket opens up in the front and becomes a trenchcoat sort of affair in the back. This might give her a style that's a little more exotic in appearance.
