I gave up on the book around issue 3 or 4. The protagonist, whose name I don't even remember, just didn't do it for me. He was incorrigibly bad. And although that was the point I guess, the book never kept my interest.

    I ordered issue 8 for Cory's fill-in, but haven't read it yet.

oh yeah, sure man, they'll send the FBI right up your alley.

But seriously i never cared for the wife-abusing, egotistical super "hero" type. it kinda makes me feel like my heroes may not be the heroes i thought they are, in comics and in the real world.

What? Is the ant man in the ultimate universe the same as the one in normal marvel continuity?

The star of this book wasn't pym, he was a new guy named Eric O Grady, he's a great big jerk but no wife beater. What made the book great is that he did what any average joe would do with a super shrinking suit...steal money and look at naked women.

EDIT: Great I'm already talking about this comic in the past tense, I need to write some save ant-man letters!

i'm assuming they are similar in some major fashion it is called Ireedemable Ant-Man is it not? either way I don't like the character period, due to reasons mentioned above.

It sounds more interesting than Pym. Guess people aren't ready for him. Might have to check it out but lately I've been hating on Marvel.

Yeah you should check it out, there are some references to more recent marvel continuity but you should be able to read it without having to read anything else. For catching up I heard they were releasing it in the manga sized digest form but I'm hoping it gets a hardcover collection like runaways did.
