Marvin Hagler

Based on a photo from the Hagler-Hearns fight in 1985. The head looks big, but strangely seems to agree with the photo proportions (maybe the rest of my foreshortening is off). I'm meeting Hagler on Thursday at a charity event and thinking of getting him to sign this.

Yea I think you've got some perspective issues going on. In the photo his hips are behind his head, so his torso is in perspective, but the way you've drawn it his torso looks as though its perpendicular to the ground. Instead of re-drawing his whole body, you could shrink his head down a bit, that might look better. Besides, just cos that's how he looks in the photo doesn't mean that it'll look good as a drawing. Just my two cents.

I agree -- I always have a tough time deciding which decisions to make based on 'artistic license' when working from stuff like this. I'll take a second look and see if I can shrink the head a bit.

Okay - I shrunk the head a bit and I think it looks a lot better. Remember, we are talking about a 5'9" guy here, not the usual heroic proportions.
