Tablet and screen

Hey gang.

I have a tablet, and bought a 16:9 computer screen... which is not proportional to the tablet's dimensions! :/

Not only are the images distorted when they show up on the screen, but also, it is a pain to use my tablet, as even a simple shape such as a circle drawn on the tablet appears as an oval on the screen. Which pretty much means I can't draw directly on on my comp.

Anyone knows of a method to shrunk the screen workspace to regular proportions when working on images? I know this option exists on some TVs, so I guess it should be possible here?

I just change my tablet settings to use the top half of my tablet.

Plus, I have an A5 tablet, wouldn't it be too small then?

Methane right, you should change your table option. If you have a good graphic card then it could handle this problem much easier. Most new graphic cards have a double screen option. It’s like having your desktop wide but everything else will have a much smaller width. Like if you cut down the middle of your monitor and use that type of width instead. So text and images look more square in size.

You have a Wacom, right? Just go into Mapping in the tablet properties and check Force Proportions.

Yep, it's a wacom, I'm still pretty new with it, I'll try that, thanks!

BUT, this doesn't correct the image which is horizontally enlarged, does it?... that means that if I draw something directly with my tablet, it will appear normal on my screen, but too thin on regular screens, no?

Basically I thought that there were maybe a simple screen setting option, that enabled me to go back to 4/3 format instead of 16/9.

Widescreen monitors just add more space to either side so the program windows have more room...it doesn't actually stretch the contents like a widescreen television does.
