    Raphael the turtle, not the artist

    Okay, lame title thread aside thought I'd post something of a backward process. Ballpoint pen sketch then pencil. Put in the pencil section because it's a pencil approach.

    My only real gripe is the bg seems a bit too forced and lacking detail. Raf's delts are also a bit too far off his body mass, making the arm anatomy wonky.

    Totally agree about the bg but I couldn't spend anymore time on it. I originally didn't intend a background but the draw off requirements were that there be a bg. So if it looks forced it is.

    Yeah, originally I didn't define the delts that way but sometimes lines are added for the sake of it. Didn't help that I started the framework of the figure with ballpoint pen either. Good crits, Drop.
