hi there. i made this sketch last night because i was thinking about entering an illustration competition that i'd heard of recently. the theme is that you have to draw sci-fi/fantasy.

i figured there isn't a whole lot about the sci-fi that i liked that wasn't well represented in akira.

so i thought i'd give drawing tetsuo a shot. i know there are all kinds of problems, so please rip it up. it'll only help the final.

I think the wind is blowing his hair in a different direction than the cape though ...

thanks for the kind words on the expression!

as for the hair and the cape... for some reason i just like the interplay of shapes there and i probably won't change it. but i bet you're right and it's not realistic at all.

the head is up too high

there isnt enough indication of forshortening of the neck.

The shoulders start too low at the angle that we are looking at tetsuo from.
